At On Verve, every team member brings their own unique experiences, shaping the way we deliver exceptional guest services. For Lauren Bibby, operations support, her hospitality, business, and HR background has equipped her with the skills to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment.
From leaping into the corporate world to advocating for more women in leadership, Lauren’s journey is one of growth, challenge, and empowerment.
A journey of transferable skills
Lauren’s career path began in the business and events industry, where she completed an undergraduate degree before going on to study for a master’s in HR. While her academic background gave her a strong foundation, it was her hands-on experience in hospitality that truly shaped her approach to work.
“Hospitality taught me so much—how to manage people, handle tricky situations, and make quick decisions that have a big impact,” she explains. “It’s a busy, fast-paced environment, and those skills have been invaluable in my role at On Verve.”
Transitioning into the corporate sector was a big step, but one she was ready for. “I wanted a new challenge, and the opportunity at On Verve came highly recommended by an employee. It felt like the right move at the right time.”
First impressions and unexpected challenges
When Lauren first joined On Verve, she was drawn to the energy and excitement of the company.
“It seemed like such a fun place to work—there was always something going on. But beyond that, it felt empowering to be part of a company where women are leading and thriving, especially in a corporate world that’s still largely male-dominated.”
However, guest services wasn’t quite what she expected.
“I quickly realised that this isn’t an easy ride! It’s hard work, and every day brings new challenges. But at the same time, it’s hugely rewarding—you see the direct impact of your work and how it makes a difference to people’s experiences.”
Empowering women in leadership
One of the things Lauren appreciates most about On Verve is its strong female leadership.
“Companies need to lead by example. On Verve has always had strong women in high positions, and that’s made a huge difference in creating an environment where women feel supported and encouraged to step into leadership roles.”
She believes visibility is key. “When women see other women succeeding, it breaks down barriers. It shows that leadership isn’t just for men, it’s for anyone with the drive and ability to make an impact.”
Embracing growth and new challenges
Lauren’s journey at On Verve is still unfolding, but one thing is clear: she thrives on challenge, growth and the opportunity to make a difference.
With a background that spans hospitality, HR, and business, she’s proof that skills are transferable and that the right environment can help you push beyond your comfort zone.
“It’s not always easy, but that’s what makes it worth it. Growth comes from challenge, and I’m excited for what’s next.”
