Finding her path

Alice’s career began in the world of reception and recruitment, where she honed her communication skills, professionalism, and ability to think on her feet. While she enjoyed the work, she knew deep down that she wanted something more, a challenge that would push her out of her comfort zone and allow her to grow. “I was actively looking for a new challenge when someone I knew mentioned On Verve was hiring. I took the leap—and it turned out to be the best decision I’ve made.”

Starting a new job is always an adjustment, but Alice’s introduction to On Verve was nothing short of eye-opening.

“I was taken aback—in a good way! I’ve never seen a company so enthusiastic about what they do. It was infectious, and I knew immediately that I had made the right decision.”

Since then, her initial excitement hasn’t faded. Instead, it’s only grown stronger as she’s become an integral part of the team, helping to shape the experience for both colleagues and clients. “That award was a huge moment for me—it showed that my efforts to support and uplift others were being recognised. It was a reminder of how far I’ve come and how much I love being in a position where I can help others grow.”

“Do exactly what you did the first time—because look how far you’ve come.”

Advice for young women in guest services

Alice’s message to young women considering a career in guest services is simple but powerful:

“Be you, because there isn’t another you in the world.”
